Why do some people have plastic Windows that work properly for decades, while others do not function well after a couple of months after installation? This is often caused by incorrect material selection and installation errors. IMZO experts tell you how to check the quality of Windows and installation on site.
With proper installation and operation of a modern window system that will last 50-80 years. It is difficult to determine whether the Windows are installed correctly at the time of receiving work. Installers ' errors may appear in a few months. Often, you need to remove the entire double-glazed window to fix it. To avoid unpleasant situations, IMZO recommends checking Windows when purchasing and at the time of installation.
Five tips from IMZO:
- Read the documents. Buy certified products and trust the installation to official representatives of the company. Before choosing a supplier, ask the masters for a Declaration of compliance with state standards-an ISO 9001 certificate. Pay attention to the coefficients of translucency, wind resistance, noise and heat insulation class.
- Examine the window samples. Visit the manufacturer's showroom and check out the demo samples. The surface of the frame with glazing should be evenly colored and smooth to the touch, without dents or kinks. After ordering, also check the finished Windows for these criteria.
- Examine the quality of the installation. After installation, open and close the doors several times. On all sides of the joint, the window must be sealed against the frame. If you see a gap, it means that the unit was skewed during installation. If the window opens and closes with difficulty, then you need to adjust the hinges. Ask the masters to correct these shortcomings immediately.
- Inspect the Windows from the outside. There should be a gap of 2-3 cm between the block and the outer wall. it should be filled with mounting foam during installation. Make sure that the mounting foam matches the temperature characteristics of the region (this is indicated on the package). Otherwise, the composition will lose its properties, gas exchange of the window will be disrupted, or drafts will appear in the room. There is no need to leave room for foam on the inside. The master can fit the frame tightly on a wall or a staple (in the case of an uneven opening or mismatch of the internal and external perimeters).
- Check the shtapiki, slopes and window sills. Push the frame and the glass unit itself. If they wobble, ask the master to fix the staples. When installed correctly, the shtapiki are tightly fixed with locks with grooves. Slopes and window sills should be smooth, without deformation and kinks.
It is better to check the correct installation of Windows at the time of delivery of work, so that the wizard can quickly fix everything. If problems occur within the first two days after installation, errors can also be resolved without removing the frames and double-glazed Windows. Be careful and enjoy shopping!
